Day Thirty-Nine: Returning to the Dermatologist and getting light therapy.

Well yesterday I returned to the dermatologist to check on my progress and get another dose of Blue Light therapy to kill bacteria (30 minutes, $50). So far, my skin is looking horrible! Particularly right after the dermabrasion, my skin was red and I broke out everywhere!

Now, my skin is peeling, red and quite scary. However, my dermatologist has encouraged me to stick with the program and continue to use the Retin-A along with the other products from his skin care line. He explained that my skin will continue to get worse as it brings out all the "stuff" that was in my skin. If you want to know what this "stuff" is, read the What is acne vulgaris? article.

Well, I am willing to stick with the program, particularly because I work from home and can avoid all human contact until my skin improves. Fortunately, for people that can't do this, oil-free makeup is allowed on the program. I have been using my Bare Escentuals Foundation.
