Acne and the Seasons

Dermatologists tend to agree that they get most cases of acne coming into their office in the fall, around November or December. Although it has not been proven, it has been speculated that humans have an increase in testosterone production during these months. This is thought to be triggered mainly by changing day lengths and is less pronounced in those living closer to the equator. If you notice that your acne flares up more during the fall and winter, this may be the cause.
