Acne and Picking

Probably the most detrimental thing that acne sufferers do to themselves is picking their acne blemishes. Squeezing a whitehead will only cause the plug to be pushed further into the skin and thus break the wall of the pore. This will inevitably cause the formation of an inflamed lesion!

It is imperative that you do not pick!

Some might argue that it is okay to pick if you do it the right way. However, this is nearly impossible unless you are trained to do so. If you want the plugs removed, see your dermatologist, who can do skilled extractions for you.
